Isla's new beach towel

A few weeks ago my neighbor asked if I could fix the straps on her granddaughter's bathing suit. The straps crisscrossed in the back, making it hard to get on a little 6 month old.

It took me just a few minutes to uncross and re-sew the straps, but....

I couldn't bear to give it back without stitching her a new towel to match!

Now, Miss Isla is all ready for a swim in Grandma's pool.

Toddler backpack

It's been awhile since I've posted and I am finding out once you get out of the habit
of posting on a regular basis, it's sooooo hard to get back into it.
Does anyone else have this problem?

I thought I would start back with something simple.

My niece, Braelynn, started attending daycare recently and needed something to carry her essentials. Her mom contacted me to ask if I could make a toddler size backpack.
I made the toddler backpack in the photo below for Oakleigh a few years ago.
You can see the original post here.

Using a snap for closure verses a zipper, I found it a bit awkward to get things in and out. Don't get me wrong... I LOVED this little pattern, but Braelynn's mom needed something she could easily pack. I've been crazy busy lately and knew I would not have time to actually sew a backpack, so I decided just to embellish a purchased one.

I had no idea how long it would take or how hard it would be to find a toddler size backpack.
It probably would have taken me a lot less just to make it!

Until next time.....

Happy Sunday!
