Welcome to the neighborhood.

I am getting a new neighbor right next door and I am so excited to meet her.
According to the previous owner, she is a single gal, moving down from the northeast and should be here in February.
I don't know her name, so I was trying to come up with a way to welcome her and give her something personal for her new home.

Since I have no idea what colors she has in her home or her decorating style, I went with something simple.
I figured cupcakes go with ANYTHING including Home "sweet" Home.

I personalized it by including her new address under the cupcake.
(To protect her privacy I have blurred out the address in the picture.)

Here it is wrapped and ready to be delivered.

I can't wait to meet her.

HomeGoods, Michaels and a little sewing

I am putting together a tiny little gift for a new neighbor.

Thanks to HomeGoods and Michaels I was able to keep the price down to around $12 not including packaging and personalizing.

Of course, I GOTTA personalize it!

Stay tuned....

The Dollar Tree comes through again!

Once again, I was asked to put together the door prizes for my daughter's school dance.
We have two drawings - one for the boys and another for the girls.

My plan was to spend $10 on each basket, not including the stuffing, tag or any of the wrapping.

Thanks to The Dollar Tree I didn't exceed my budget.

His contains the following:

1. Box of candy (of course)
2. Travel mug
3. Flashlight
4. Batteries for the flashlight
5. Two pairs of tube socks
6. Cologne
7. Rubber baseball and soccer ball
8. Men's comb and brush set
9. Valentine tie

Hers contains the following:

1. Box of heart shaped chocolates
2.  Set of lotion, shower gel and shampoo
3. Coffee cup with hearts
4. Valentine socks
5. Pedicure set
6. Funky heart shaped glasses
7. Girly erasable marker board with matching note pads
8. Shower puff
9. Perfume

I purchased the containers for $1 each and included nine gifts which brought me to my $10 goal per basket.

I LOVE The Dollar Tree....

I'm craving.....

Too bad this donut isn't edible; it's a pincushion!
Wouldn't this make a great gift for a sewer, along with a Starbucks gift card?

Flannel Pillowcases

I love making flannel pillowcases for the kids.
You can find flannel in all colors and prints now.

Want something a bit more girly?
Check these out I made a few years ago with matching pj's and overnight bags.
What little girl wouldn't want a matching set for their next sleepover?

Angels on my mantel

All our children and grandchildren were here for 10 days in December and we couldn't have been more excited.
What a blessing it is to have all your children home for the holidays.
I managed to snap a few photos while they were here.

I am guessing most people put their angels on top of the Christmas tree...

Mine went on my mantel.

Better late than never...

Just a few goodies from Christmas.

I just love this little gingerbread girl and have used her many times.
Here she is below embroidered on a teacher gift.

This little personalized teacher gift only cost me about $7 to put together.
I love the Bath & Body Works foaming hand soaps; they are inexpensive and make nice additions to any hand or dish towel gift.

Below I personalized a bath wrap as a gift and added Bath & Body Works bath spray, lotion and shower gel.

Hope your having a great day!

Happy New Year!

Yikes! It's January 2014!
What in the heck happened to November and December - 2013?
Apparently, the end of 2013 just flew by me with no warning.
I spent the entire month of November planning and organizing a large gathering at my home for Thanksgiving. I was so busy setting up and getting ready Thanksgiving Day, I forgot to take pictures before everyone arrived.
I did, however, snap a few shots of these adorable chalkboards Mr. Fisherman made for the occasion.

Aren't they the cutest?
