Stubbon stain "remover"

Now you see it....

 and now you don't.

Trying to justify that hefty price tag for an embroidery machine?
Well, here ya go.....

* Just look at the money I saved by not having to buy a new shirt *

I 've been out of service, but....

I am now up and running again.
We had a storm on Saturday which knocked out our electricity.
Our electricity was back on late Saturday night, but unfortunately lighting hit the power box for our landline, internet and TV.
It's taken 5 days for someone to come out and replace the box.
(Not sure what happened to that 24 hour commitment)
Needless to say.... I was not a happy camper.

But...

~ On a happier note ~

I have been making "wrapping paper" and "gift tags" for Christmas gifts.
If you read my blog at all, you know how much I dislike spending my hard earned dollars on wrapping paper or gift bags that will be thrown away.

I ordered these tote bags from Oriental Trading Company and will be embroidering the recipient's name on each.

These totes measures 11" x 4 1/2" x 15 1/2" and are made from 600D polyester which is a bit thinner than I thought they would be, but they seem to be sturdy enough to hold several books with no problem.

What will go in them?
I haven't a clue as yet, but hey, my wrapping paper and name tags are ready to go!

Cookies, cookies and more cookies

Look what the postman delivered yesterday.
My winnings from Fresh Cut Flours.

Actually, there were a few more, but....
I am sure you already know the rest of that story, now don't you...

What detail.
Check out the little ladybugs on the flowers.

They arrived individually wrapped and heat sealed for freshness.
She even includes an ingredient label on the back.

Some of you may not know, but in Terri's life before cookies, she made beautiful handmade cards.
Check this one out she included in my goodie box..

I know you must be thinking...
Okay, these cookies are adorable, but how do they taste?
I am here to tell you....
Just as good as they look!

Thanks again Terri for my absolutely yummy, adorable cookies.

~ Still Scrapping ~

Are you ever in the mood to just sew something, but have nothing in particular in mind?
This is one of those projects.

I always have a little stack of old worn out blue jeans in my stash.
I made this tote out of a few pant legs.
The lining is made from fabric leftover from another project.

Really, the left side in not sewed "wonky" it's just the way it's sitting on the counter.
Honest.

Yet another, NO COST project using leftover fabric and recycled jeans.

What's on your list to recycle today?

Remember this post ?

I have been wanting to taste those yummy little cookies since I first met

Finally.... I won that opportunity!
I won a box of themed cookies - my choice.
Oh, the pressure....
Should I choose these for a garden party...

maybe these for my next BBQ ?

What about these - for the princess I am :o)

I know, I have all girls - 2 daughters and a granddaughter, but aren't these cute?

Maybe something just for fun.

To keep my girly waistline - maybe a little fruit.

What would YOU choose?

I know what I want.
Can you guess?

I'm sure if you have ever visited Fresh Cut Flours you already know my choice.

Another Taylor Made design

When I posted my Taylor Made bag a few days ago, Janine asked
where I purchased the pattern.
Unfortunately, I purchased the pattern so long ago I could not remember.
I then went on the search for her....and found it here.

While on my search, I came across this cute little Taylor Made Design.

I found it here - on sale!
Regular $6.00 on sale for $3.00.
It's a pincushion, but I think it would be cute just as
a slice of birthday cake for a non-sewer.
What do you think?

I can't wait to try it.
Have any of you made this pattern?
There are 6 pages of instructions for this little slice of cake.
Did you find it easy?

Lemon Meringue yogurt mixed with a scoop of Grape Nut cereal.

It really is like eating a lemon meringue pie.
Try it - it's delish!

Mr. Fisherman's new playhouse

I haven't had much sewing time this week.
We have been busy with Mr. Fishermans new playhouse.
It started like this....

The truck pulled up - eight o'clock sharp.

They got to work right away installing the floor.

Up go a few walls.

Moving right along to the roof.

A few shingles, the door and a couple of windows later....

and Mr. Fisherman has a new playhouse!

Isn't it pretty?

Looks empty now, but Mr. Fisherman has been busy drawing up his plans...

What a job....
We had to empty the old shed, and tear it down before they even started building
 the new one.
Mr. Fisherman is now in the process of building shelves, a work bench and installing cabinets.
Any volunteers to help move everything back in?

Taylor Made Bags

~ Another reason to save those scraps ~

This was a fun little bag to make.
I made it using this pattern by Cindy Taylor Oates called Taylor Made Bags.

Since I used scraps from my never ending scrap pile, an old pair of jeans, and a zipper
 I had on hand...
it didn't cost me a dime!

Imagine my surprise this morning when...

I poured myself a cup of coffee....

signed onto my computer....

and found 111 followers !

When I started this little blog back in March 2010, as a tribute to my mother, I had no idea anyone would even be interested. Today I hit 111 followers - or - new friends as I like to call them. Well, that's not exactly accurate...I guess I can't count my best bud Debbie, Mr. Fisherman or our daughter in the count of new friends. But, I can definitely count the other 108. You see - I am not one to beg for followers. We have all seen them. You follow me and I will follow you... or if you follow me you can win a really cool prize.
What's the point? Are they really interested in your posts?
I have kept this little blog a secret from most of my family and friends.
Why?
Because I make gifts for many of them and I don't want them peeking before it's time.
So now you see why I am so excited?
I have 108 new friends !
So, thank you my friends, for not only following me, but taking the time to read and comment on my posts - all the while, ignoring all my grammar and punctuation errors. My mother would be so proud; not of my grammar and punctuation errors, of course, but maybe...
just maybe...
I too, have been able to inspire someone along the way.

Thanks again to all my wonderful new friends!
YOU are MY inspiration.
