Valentine's Day snack mats for my grandbabies

These little snack mats are the same size as my mug rugs, but since my grandbabies don't drink much coffee, I thought I would refer to them as their snack mats instead.

I love making these useful little mats/rugs.
I have several around my house.
I actually prefer them verses a tiny little coaster.

Hugs and kisses Oakleigh and Brantley - Mimi loves you.

 Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Do you have a motto?

According to the Webster's dictionary...

 Mot-to:
1. a short sentence or phrase chosen as encapsulating the beliefs or ideals guiding an individual, family, or institution:

Yep.
I believe that would be mine...
What's yours?

Happy Friday everyone!

Carter's gift basket and a new baby

I just found out last night that we are getting a new addition to the family.
My nephew, Mathew, will be a daddy for the first time.
I am so excited!
It seems it wasn't that long ago that I was making things for the bridal shower.

Anyhow, that reminded me, I never posted little Carter's baby gift.
Carter is the very newest addition to our family.
Carter is Cole's baby brother and my great nephew.

Carter's theme was sports and animals.

I got started with this little elephant design.

I wanted to stitch something to match the elephant I purchased.

I added a bib...

a burp cloth...

 a hooded towel and washcloth...

and started on the basket liner...

I added a few extras like powder, shampoo, wash, etc. and this personalized Christmas ornament I found at Michaels.

Here it is all together.

Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo after it was wrapped and ready to go.
You can see my other wrapped baby baskets here, here, here, here, here and here.

Stay tuned...
I have even another baby basket in progress for a friend.

I love making baskets for new babies...
Is it obvious?

Remember yesterday's post?

I was concerned my leopard fabric was looking a bit more like camouflage.

I decided to add a larger piece of the leopard fabric onto the bottom of the cosmetic bag and include a small pouch for Veronica's essentials.

Now that you can see a bit more of the leopard spots,
I'm hoping it looks more like the cat and less like the hunter...

I'm in need of a second opinion...

Nope.
I'm not standing in the doctor's office, I'm in the sewing room.
I am making a gift for a friend using this leopard fabric.

I started stitching and I thought it was looking pretty cute.

Then it came time to cut out around my applique design and...

YIKES !!!

Now, it looks like CAMO to me!

Definitely NOT what I was going for.
What do you think?
