Lucy Aurora

Need a quick personalized baby gift?
I whipped this one up in no time for sweet little Lucy Aurora.

First...
I purchased a 3 piece bib and burp cloth set with a pretty little heart already embroidered on it.
I just added her name.

Next...
I fell in love with this soft, snuggly (ready made) blanket.
I pulled a scrap of pretty polka dot fabric from my stash and added the applique design.

Fast and easy!

And what baby doesn't like a tiny security blanket to hang on to?

Again, simple.

All I did was embroider her name.

DONE!

Easy as that.

Don't you just love quick and easy?

I do.

Simple gift basket

Earlier this year one of my daughter's teachers got married.
I could not find her wedding registry anywhere and had no idea what she needed or the color scheme in her home.
I knew she liked to bake, so I went with that.
I found this nice little book of country baking and started there.

I used the same mixer design I used for Brantley's dishtowel.
I added measuring cups, oven mitt, and a sweet little heart cookie cutter.

To personalize it a bit more I embroidered the newlyweds names and wedding date on the basket.

Simple personalized gift basket for under $30.

HomeGoods...

Don't you just LOVE them?
They have so much to look at and their prices are always right.

I often stroll through HomeGoods looking for gift ideas.

Bettina's birthday was coming up soon and I needed a little gift.

I usually wander around trying to find something I can personalize.
I found the sweetest little ceramic tray holding a bottle of lemon scented hand soap and lotion.
I then found an adorable little yellow and white cutting board to match.

It was just the right size to prop behind the soap and add some color.

I added the personalized dishtowel and (since everything had a lemon theme) I included my favorite lemon pie recipe.

All wrapped and ready to go...

Because everything at HomeGoods is so reasonably priced, I was able to put this little gift together for under $20.

I hope everyone is having a great Monday!

Carter's gift basket and a new baby

I just found out last night that we are getting a new addition to the family.
My nephew, Mathew, will be a daddy for the first time.
I am so excited!
It seems it wasn't that long ago that I was making things for the bridal shower.

Anyhow, that reminded me, I never posted little Carter's baby gift.
Carter is the very newest addition to our family.
Carter is Cole's baby brother and my great nephew.

Carter's theme was sports and animals.

I got started with this little elephant design.

I wanted to stitch something to match the elephant I purchased.

I added a bib...

a burp cloth...

 a hooded towel and washcloth...

and started on the basket liner...

I added a few extras like powder, shampoo, wash, etc. and this personalized Christmas ornament I found at Michaels.

Here it is all together.

Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo after it was wrapped and ready to go.
You can see my other wrapped baby baskets here, here, here, here, here and here.

Stay tuned...
I have even another baby basket in progress for a friend.

I love making baskets for new babies...
Is it obvious?

Hi Guys!

I apologize (again) for such a long absence between posts.
You know what they say..."time flies when you're having fun".
I've been busy with life and hadn't realized how much I missed all my blogging buddies until I received the following comment from anonymous.

Hellooooooooooooooo !!
Anybody there.???
Please comeback we miss YOU!!!

Thanks Anonymous - whoever you are - for bringing me back to my lonely little blog.

Unfortunately,  I was in such a rush to finish Colin's gift basket I forgot to take individual photos
 of everything I included.

Here is the finished project.

Does the basket liner look a bit familiar?
I used the same design here on Coles basket.
Funny, they both chose the same theme (Team Safari from Babies R Us) so I was able to reuse a few of the animal applique designs I had already purchased for Coles gift.

I reused the monkey design on a burp cloth made from a diaper.

I found this adorable little giraffe at Target and dressed him in a bib with the babies name on it.

I also included baby hangers, nail clippers, shampoo, powder, lotion and a baseball as fillers.

More to come tomorrow....

Did I really only post ONCE in April?

The month of April was extremely busy for me.
It was all good - just busy.

In my last post I said I would share my baby shower goodies with you later.
(At the time I didn't know it would be this much later).

Even though I would love to take full credit for this cute little idea - I can't.
I just wish I could remember where I first saw the "Grab and Go" basket so I could thank them for sharing such a clever idea.
It's all around the internet now, but in case you have not seen it, here's the idea.

Each bag contains enough stuff for a diaper change making it easy for Mom to Grab and Go.
In each bag I included 2 infant diapers, a onesie (just in case), baby wipes, and hand wipes for Mom.
I also included a $25 gift card to Target for refills.

Anyhow, here is my version...

The babies room is decorated in Team Safari from BabiesRUs so I tried to match that theme.
I purchased the adorable applique animal designs from http://www.designsbyjuju.com and the sports design on the basket liner from http://www.emblibrary.com.

Aren't they cute?
It's hard to pick a favorite.

The monkey...

The elephant...

The giraffe...

or maybe the lion or gator?

I can't pick!
What's your favorite?

Ruffle diaper cover...

...or, as I like to call them - Ruffle Butt Britches!

Aren't these cute?
It's the Fancy Ruffled Diaper Cover by tie dye Diva patterns.
I ordered mine from YouCanMakeThis.com.

Back

Front

I LOVE this pattern!

I made the 0-3 month size and found those tiny little leg holes were a bit of a challenge, but otherwise the pattern came together very easy.
I would certainly make them again.

And, of course, Miss Oakleigh needed something to match her new little sister.

I also purchase tee's and embroidered "big sister - little sister" shirts.

Brantley's basket empty...

Full and ready to go...

If you would like to check out Oakleigh's basket you can go HERE
or
 Kember's basket HERE.

Happy Tuesday!

Kember's baby shower gifts

First, I want to thank my blogger buddies for your well wishes.
I am about 60% back to normal and hoping to be 100% soon.

And... thanks to "Mr. Fisherman", my sweet hubby, for letting everyone know I was a bit "under the weather". Although it was very sweet of him to post for me, I became a little concerned  he would start entertaining you with fishing, hunting or
some sort of auto part stories....
I thought I better get back in the swing of things VERY quickly!

Now that the baby shower is over, I thought I would share my finished projects.
(I did not make any of the onsies or pants - just embroidered on them).

We all know what little boys are made of, right?
Of course we do - snakes and snails....

And of course sports...
Grandpa's fishing buddy shirt...

Basketball....
A long-sleeved onsie with basketball hoop and initials, blue jeans and a matching burp.

Or maybe baseball....

I just love this baseball fabric.

For the matching burps I cut the fabric in a "peanut" shape and used terrycloth
for the embroidered side.
Very easy project.

A few more outfits....

I  thought this little tow truck was cute and just wanted to incorporated his name into the design.

Again, just used terrycloth for the bib and a soft denim for the back.

Zippered pouch for the baby wipes

How simple this was to put together.
I found the hooded towel at Target, the washcloths and the cute little blue duck
 at Wal-Mart.

Okay, THIS ONE I will have to explain.....
You see.... Kember is named after his Daddy's favorite gun manufacturer, his sister, Oakleigh, was named after the sunglasses. The spelling was changed on both - from Oakley to Oakleigh and Kimber to Kember.

Here is the basket before wrapping.
I also included a baby blanket, baby powder, baby wash and a football.

All wrapped and ready to go.

Of course the package could not go out without something in it for Miss Oakleigh...
A backpack, coloring book, stickers, I'm a Big Sister book and a "big sister" tee shirt.

Whew! I think I am done for now.
If you want something more girly, check out Oalkeigh's basket here.
