Miss Braelynn turns one

I can't believe it's been a year.
It seems like only a few months ago, I was working on Braelynn's baby shower gifts.
My niece is a "girly girl" and wanted Braelynn's first birthday party to be pink, purple and girly.
She was making her a fancy little tutu and asked me if I would embroider a shirt to match.
Well, of course, I said yes!

After stitching it out, I thought it was a bit plain and added a few sparkles.

It still wasn't fancy enough for a tutu, so I kept embellishing...

All she needs now is to add her fancy little tutu and she's ready to party!

Happy Birthday, Miss Braelynn!

Love notes

For the newlyweds.

This dry erase board was so easy to make using a simple picture frame.

All I did was stitch out the design, pop it into the frame, add the hook side of stick-on Velcro to the side of the frame and the loop side to a dry erase marker.

Since it's glass, the dry erase marker wipes right off.

 Easy breezy.

Instead of wrapping the kitchen towels and recipe cards, I added them on top as part of the package decoration.

And I'm done!

More bridal shower gifts

Since you can never have too many kitchen towels...

I thought it would be fun to stitch up a few and add recipe cards to match.

Bridal shower game

The invitation I received for my niece's bridal shower included instructions for a party game.
The instructions were (if you would like to participate) to bring a wrapped pair of panties or a pair of PJ's for the bride. If she guesses who brought them, you win a prize!

Here is my entry...

Whatcha think... a winner?

Gifts for the bride

I've been working on a few small items to include with my bridal shower gift for my new niece.
She and my nephew will be married March 29.
One of the small things on her registry was a set of bamboo kitchen utensils.
I found a matching bamboo cutting board and added a personalized dishtowel.

I purchased an all white waffle weave dishtowel and added a few embellishments.
Rather than hemming the bottom edge, I decided to give it a different look and just serged it with matching thread.
I wanted to "pretty up" the wrapping a bit so I cut a small square of the same fabric I used on the dishtowel and stitched it to a tag.

Wrapped and ready to go.

Stay tuned...
more to come.

Pinch proofing my grandbabies!

First, something crazy, silly and GREEN for their hair...

Wanting to make ABSOLUTELY sure they were "pinch proof"....

I stitched a shirt for Miss Oakleigh.

Another for Miss Brantley.

I think they are now "pinch proofed".... at least until bedtime.
Oh no!....Should I have made green jammies too?
