~ Father knows best ~

There hasn't been much sewing going on here lately so I thought I would share something my father taught me. I have seen a few tutorials on folding sheets in the past, but have not seen "his way" so I thought I would share.

Here goes... step by step.
(Please excuse the bad photography and the wrinkled sheets)

First fold your fitted sheet in half - from top to bottom.

Fold over again.
Depending on the size sheet - you may want to fold a third time.

Next - the fitted sheet...
Fold in half tucking the corners inside.

It should now look like this.

Now start folding the fitted sheet down from top to bottom.

Fold again...

...and again and lay it on top of your flat sheet.

Fold your pillowcase in half long ways.

Now lay your pillowcase on top of the fitted sheet.

Next - start from one end and fold over.

Keep folding...

again...

...and again until you end up like this.

Flip it over...

and stack neatly in the linen closet.

I fold mine the same way! Makes for very easy storage, doesn't it?

This is a great tutorial, Lucy! You are right, I have not seen this version done before and it certainly does make a nice neat package!

Please do not come to my house and look in my linen closet as I do not have the patience to do something like this. My fitteds usually in up in a ball shape, but I figure I am going to stretch them over the mattress anyway, so all those wrinkles aren't going to show later, lol!

Kudos to you though for taking the time and making the effort. I bet all the can labels are facing out in your pantry too, right?!

Wow! I did a tutorial on my blog about how I fold a fitted sheet, but I have to admit, this might be even better! I'll have to give it a shot. :-)

So THAT'S how you do it! LOL I have seen people who could fold a fitted sheet (not me, mind you) but this takes it to a whole 'nutha' level!

Awesome!
