After three failed attempts to sew the neckband following the written directions, I gave up.
I ended up cutting a strip of fabric and sewing it to the neckline as you would sew on bias tape.
In the process of removing the neckband (for the third time), I tore a hole in the fabric. Grrrrr....
Luckily, I was able to cover it up when I brought the "bias tape" around to the back.
At this point, I was so frustrated I didn't care what it looked like, I just wanted it DONE.
Can we say... really sloppy sewing????
I was actually dreading the waistband and armbands, but they went in perfectly!
The photos don't do it justice..... it looks WAY WORSE in person!
My hat's off to you who have mastered the Renfrew neckband and then went on to make many more.
Sadly, this may be my last.

Last? Hmmmm... I applaud you for sticking with finishing this project! I think it looks fine!
I agree with Debbie! Also very nice choice of fabric.
